Martin Monk is a filmmaker and photographer from Berlin, Germany. While studying history and philosophy, he became interested in cinema and – after first experiences on sets – realised that this was his calling. He became a student of Michael Haneke and wrote and directed Favoriten, a live-action short that premiered at the prestigious Cinéfondation Selection of the 72nd Cannes Film Festival. He completed his MA in Directing at Film Academy Vienna in 2023.

Martin has also frequently worked in commercial image production and creation. From concept to shoot and through post-production, his creativity and professionalism is appreciated by renowned clients and agencies.
